Week 4 and 4 weeks too long.

I'm back here again because I need a getaway. A getaway from everything. SMU has been a giant mess of Karma that has been accumulating since I swore for the first time. It's hard to make friends, people in a rush. At SMU, People are transient. People walk in, people walk out. It's like taking a train from the first stop to terminal station. Only thing, nobody else seems to be heading the to same place I'm headed.

I had a dream I didn't want to wake up from, I'll be honest. I saw her again, and she said hi. All these two years of trying to convince myself that she broke my heart and she didn't deserve me, giving me a fucked up reasoning about how she was not ready for a relationship but had two boyfriends in as many years, never letting me know why I was never good enough. All these 2 years of trying to convince myself that that girl was poison seemed to melt away. I didn't care what she did in the past, or worry about what she will do. I was happy then to be caught in a place created in dreams with her and her alone. I would be lying if i whined about how I think about her all the time. I don't. I think about her less and less nowadays, it gets better as chronology continues. But that's the problem. The fact that I still do. I think about her, I miss her, sometimes.

I hate myself for realising it now. I don't understand why I haven't gotten over her yet. It has been close to 3 years now and she seems to be getting on along fine. I try to tell myself that I'm happy she's happy, but I'm not that great a guy. I hate her for not having a hard enough time as me. I hate that she was so hard to forget while I was a fleeting memory. From a young age I always thought I was too smart to fall for the schoolboy crush theory, that I would never conform to the facade of what the world calls love. I didn't even believe in it when I was in the first relationship in my life. I said it a couple of times, but I've never felt it. I've felt affection, I've felt care, concern, I've felt her lips against mine, her hands in mine. But, I'm starting to think that as a 16 year old, when I first smiled at a girl who didn't returned it, I might have fallen in love.

Enough of the mope-fest. Life fucks you over, the world doesn't stop. It kicks you in the crotch and spits in your face. Okay, now that's just the cynic in me trying to get out. But some things are only seen by the cynic, if the world didn't suck, we'd all fall off. Life sucks, the world sucks. Point made, let's carry on.

It has been 4 weeks into SMU, I've not written a proper entry in years. But today was trying to say the least, so I'm giving it a shot(No one reads this blog anyway). Life in SMU has just been a slow and painful descend into an abyss of torment and suffering. I'm not getting used to the life at all. Homework is piling up, projects requiring more than just a powerpoint presentation with lots of pictures and my readings list looks like a library's stock list. Friends are hard to come by, familiar faces are few and even farther between. To make things worst, The ex is studying here, but it has been a good thing she's gone for a foreign exchange. If I had my choice I would choose never to see her again. There is no need to put myself through it. When she's back, I only have to avoid her for half a year before she graduates. So I suppose there is a ray of unfiltered sunlight shining on my world, which would probably give me skin cancer in the long run.
FML.

It's a start.

Ok, here's my first post of the year, so much has happened, and I dont really have the time to jot down everything. But I'll try anyway.

Orientation.
Ok, on the first day of orientation. We got posted to our respective OGs, mine was OG7. Quite an interesting bunch of people. We had people from all walks of life, and it was evident from the way they carried themselves. From IJ schools, to neighbourhood schools, to mid range schools, it kinda reminded me of my own OG, T10. After that, for some reason, we were again split into another group. Namely, sub-houses. I'm not sure why, but it sort of disrupted the OG bonding. Anyway, I got to meet some very interesting people. :D some, perhaps, i'll keep in memory forever. Anyway, got to meet my fellow OGLs, Janah and Jasmine. While gathering our subhouse, we realised we had little members, so in the end, we just poached many students from all over the place. We had to do the school tour.

On the second day, Ice breakers! Got them to know each other closer and i think they had fun watching the forfeits haha. anywayz, i still dun really get the subhouse and og thing... bond them as a class for like 1 hr in the morn and for the rest of day split them into diff houses... and bond them with new ppl again.... quit dumb actually. anywayz more talks today. We owned monster machine!! by cheating of course.

The third, Amazing race. It was great, we had to run around singapore, completing tasks. and the final pit stop was animal resort, haha, it was a really long walk inside. But we emerged champions!! C1!! haha. Thats the only important thing to remember, we are the champions!!!!!!!!

On the fourth day, monopoly alive. It was really very fun, haha. We started off with 10k, which i casually dispatched to buy crude oil. :D we made a killing can ? so, my group went on to play games to win cash while I played the stock market. The probably most funny thing was that this guy tried to rob the bank, and he got dragged across the hall with several guys hanging on to him, it was very funny. We also did time, when we rioted for convicts, but we were made convicts too anyway. Anyway, we had a really great time.

The fifth day saw us proceed to the scouts camp for our activities, haha, we had alot of fun laing the games there, it was more of water games then anything else, but we did well la, haha. but for the exception of the last station, where the fringe guy was a real pain. :/ other than that, we had loads of fun :D. We headed back to school, cold and hungry. Since I followed my motto, of not bringing anything, I was left with my cold, wet clothes. We played CSI. Ok, honestly, it sucks. no arguements there.

It's the sixth and final day. Thank you OG7, Thankyou C1. You've been great. :D

I know this is a very stuttered and hard to read post. I'll try to liven it up abit in time to come yea ?

Over to more recent matters, got my new class. I dont really like it. It's too, mugger-ish. Which really leads me thinking. How hard is it to get a class like 115 ? How impossible it is to re-create another t10. A good mix of luck, and good people. However, it almost never happens. I've got teachers who are worlds apart. Some are great, some are well, opposite of that. Maybe this just goes to show, how good I had it last year. How different it was. How I wished it was back. Well, life isnt all a bed of roses. It isnt. Back to the present, I've been too caught up in alot of things, and I dont know why. This is really getting tiring. Well, anw, there's still a whole new year ahead, one of possibilities, one of friendship, one of goodbyes. Things will change a whole lot. And somehow, this seems all too familiar.

The rain has gone.

Instead of ending up down-under, we both somehow found ourselves in each others' lives. Things started off oddly enough. The year was great with you. I don't know how different would it have been if we never met, but I'm not keen on finding out. I'm just happy we did.

Yea, we probably will.

Boxing @ Settlers.

Slowly, one, then three more came. A few others followed, and soon we found our way to Settlers' cafe. Only after mere minutes of playing did hunger creep in. And soon, Chicken chops, Fish n' chips, Sausages all found their way to our table where we made short work of them. We had plenty of excitment trying to string card numbers together while Jacks were either heros or villians. Racking up our brains trying to figure out charades, dealing with hard english words (it would be a breeze for siewling, this one.), playing with playdough, drawing on paper and trying to answer the hardest questions on earth. Making weird animal sounds which Salem seems to have a knack for. Later, me and boss went to collect the late birds and guided them safely to the cafe. We opened another table and we played with fruits, did a balancing act and caught some monkeys. [Sidetrack] Lala is incredibly good with games! [Maintrack] They were kind enough to let me sign up for the free membership. (: We took some photos at the MRT station and proceeded to Plaza Sing. There, Delia was late for a meet-up and soo, we found ourselves shy of her company. We went to burger king where I had a surprise birthday party (:, and this stranger gave me a crown. cool right ? I played dress-up for awhile, before we had ice cream, and photo-taking. We bidded Mh and Wei en 'bye bye' and we shopped around for abit and talked alot. We headed home after that. I had a really great day. Thanks guys!

Time and again.

Christmas Hangover.

Ok, This the early the day after christmas, the day after all the hype and drama has died down. It's not really much different. Well, spent my christmas differently this year. I no longer had those lavish, over elaborate parties. Instead, I had a quiet christmas. No tukey, no Ham, no fully decorated christmas tree. No Christmas service, no hand shaking wishing everyone a 'merry christmas'. Instead I spent the day at the new house, painting. Spent the whole time getting rid of the rust via lime, painting the gate silver, painting part of the walls white. It's alot more than it sounds. But hey, who's complaining ? (:
This is one of the best christmas(es) I ever had. Not only did I get to spend it with my family, painting is fun! haha. Overall, it was really a terrific time.

Guess my status dropped a notch after midnight. From Mr. Popular, who got at least an SMS or call every few minutes. Recieving calls and SMSes wishing him a 'Happy Birthday & A Merry Christmas' , some even to sing him a birthday song. Well, after midnight, all fades away. Abit like Cinderella huh ? When her majestic carriage became a pumpkin, when her white horses and driver became mice. And the many other things . Haha. Well, welcome back world. Bye bye Cinderella land.

Don't mind me, I'm just having my Christmas Hangover. (:

Moved to Tinseltown.

X'mas eve. Spent the morning travelling to Expo with Kingdom to go FCBC for an X'mas service. Service was alright, then we headed to Tam Pines (: for a meal before heading to popo house for the Xmas party. Haha, it's fun to see how we matured over the years, to have the weirdest conversations you thought you would never have. It's something new. And it's just the start.

ok, Merry Christmas! :D
It's X'mas all over again.
Last christmas was great.
I'm expecting this one to be just as great.

Promise me again.

Surprise surprise

I don't believe it. The morning really brought about a surprise. (: Awoken by my dad and mom, they tossed us 2 huge presents haha... Well, but we aren't allowed to open them til Christmas. Haha. Same like why I haven't opened Eleanor's present yet. I'm sorry I haven't thanked you yet. Haha. I'll thank you once I open it ok ? And really, thank you for it. ( In Advance.) Anyway, kicked off today by having a meal at prata house. Ate with parents, so it always a little bit special. We ate at prata house, and we ate briyana rice, with lots of chicken, fish, both fried and curry. We also had some prata. So, after that, I went to cut my hair.. HAHA.. it's nice and short now.. (: We headed to the new house, neat and clean. We hanged around there til nightfall before heading for dinner. Ate at Toa Payoh, and here I am now. (: Today was a really good day.

Signing off,
Me

22nd Dec.

Today was the 1st OGL meeting. It wasn't all bad. After that I took a long walk to church. Met up with Vic, Chris, Andrew, Shean, Desmond there, but we left halfway for some soccer and snacks. During soccer, I thought I broke my toe. No joke, it was damn painful. It's swollen now. Man, if this keeps up, my injury list will be as long as the river Nile. Anyway, good for me, as it'll help me in NS (:
Anyway, nothing much really happened. Oh, and by the way, I'm moving sometime soon.

Hopefully, the morning brings in a surprise.

A different kind of fun.

Hello, blog-reader people. Today was an oddly good day. Lets see, I awoke at around 130pm and headed on out with my parents for lunch and to do some shopping. We had lunch at the famous Adam Road hawker centre. The food was incredibly nice. So, with full tummies, we sat in our four-wheels and before we knew it, we found ourselves in habourfront. My bro went over to Vivo to meet some frens, while me, my sis and my parents went to look at the stuff. Well, after awhile, my parents realised it would take quite long, so they released us. I accompanied my sister to Vivo because she wanted to eat a nerd rope. Tsk. Girls and they're cravings. Anyway, while walking, I wandered into a Fila shop and bought a pair of shoes. What ? Cant a guy indulge in shopping ? Sheesh. Then we flew to Candy Empire and she accquired her nerd rope, while I got squirts for myself. We went to the rooftop and ate them all up. :D Talked all kinds of crap. All kinds. Then, she wanted to eat La Mien, a girl and her cravings. Sheesh. So, we headed over to asian kitchen to eat that. I had pork dumplings. Our parents called, so we once again, flew over to Harbourfront to meet up with them. Apparently, they had this two Jackpot-like thingys to get freebies. Depending on how much you spend, you get a certain amount of tickets. We had 140 tickets. Ended up winning all sorts of junk. And we caused a cue of over 20 people who had to wait a little over an hour to have their turn.. :P Then we went to eat a late meal of porridge. Well, it was an interesting day, as I expected much less, and got much more. Guess that's a perk of low expectations huh ? (:

My world is bigger than that.

rain-proof bubble

Okay, I dont believe it!!! Tuesday was the wettest day in 75 years, and I went out. [sidetrack] Tuesday was fun, managed to get to AMK in the rain without getting wet. And there, I met a little girl to eat entrails of a pig. In the pitter patter of rainfall, we decided to head down to clark quay's Settlers cafe. Yes, only the two of us. We had fun nonetheless, playing blokus and little pyramids. However, as the little girl said, we called down the fair maiden and her prince charming from their castle in Bedok to join us for games. We half-paid for their pumpkin carriage ride down to Settlers. Dinner was next and we travelled long and far to find food fit for a king. We had red wine too (: sort of. It was a great day, boarded a couple of buses which eventually led me back to my hometown. [maintrack] Well, Tuesday being so rainy, I decided to stay home today(wed). The sun was up today. There was warm wind flowing throughout my room, it was indeed very sunny. But, no plans... !@#$^%$@$%$@#%^T%$#@$ Spent the day instead, eating leftovers, and rotting at home. Boredom never felt so real. But a wasted day ? not really. I had some time to myself, which was nice. But why ? Why such a nice day like this ? -_-

I like to do stupid things.

Unfillable Empty Shoes.

Life won't be the same without you.
Because of you, T10 was T10.
I made friends of a lifetime, thanks to you.
When you intro-ed yourself, I thought you were 'Mohan'.
And I'm sure many did too.
The fondest memory I had of you was the evergreen 'HI DELIA!'.
Always putting in so much exuberance in each greeting.
As though each would be your last.
I've long heard about your soccer abilities.
I longed to face you and your team.
A pity.

Your devil-may-care ways.
Always ponning lessons.
Always the 'do first, think later' attitude.
Playful and carefree.
Living as though each day would be your last.
And then, it came.

You'll be missed.

Maybe, just maybe, I'll see you around yea ?

A Lump.

Read an article today.
It's from the newpaper 10 dec, pg 23, first article.
It's good. I like it.
Went to pick furniture today.
Went out with some friends.
Sorry, not in a blogging mood.

But the world comes in a lump, how can I just choose the bits and pieces ?

And why did you have to say that ? I hate you.

The last two days was Casting Crowns concert. It was extremely good. As it turns out every one of their songs has a story behind it. And it makes it even more meaningful. Anyway, I met up with close friends of mine again, and it was a good experience. But cant help feeling that its different somehow. Anyway, I want to keep this short. So, yea.

A king's life, or something like it.

29th nov.

This is the day I went to Bali.
Upon reaching, we found out we had a manager (to manage the villa), 6 staff (3 on each shift), 5 security staff (they protect our villa) and 2 gardeners (yeap, we had a garden)

We were greated at the villa with a lovely candle lit dinner. Candle lit as in there were no other lights around. Besides the candles, our next source of light came from the good Ol' moon and the millions of stars above us. Dinner started off with some great salad(oh man, i've never had such good salad before.) Then there was soup. Great mushroom soup (made from real mushroom, haha). And soon, we had what everyone was waiting for... the main course! There was beef and tuna, I had beef, cooked to near perfection. Then desert.. omg the desert.. one word. HEAVENLY. Apple crumble, never tasted something so good before. And since it was so good, we had it for the rest of the holiday. The cook was more than happy to do it for us. We had a dip in our private pool, and drank a glass of baileys under the stars, it was great, we went to dreamland soon after that.
The next day, we spent most of it following our dad around shopping for stone and wood sculptures. We had lunch atthis nice place called dirty duck diner. I had the duck rice which was really good. Imagine, you have half a duck for one serving!! half a duck!! haha. But it was pretty small. Then we continued the sculpture shopping. The views while travelling on the land rover was great. But alot of it couldnt be captured on camera. before we knew it, it was dinner time. We headed to Jimbaran, a beach for dinner. We dined under the stars once again. It was beautiful. and we even had a live band that travelled table to table to perform song requests.
We headed home for apple crumble and baileys again before sleeping. The rest of the days were more or less the same, except I did go to a beach on one of the days.. the waves are great, the water is just knee high.. but the waves are taller than you, it was so cool. so, from now on, I'll just name the significant events.
I had a fish for luch :D, just a whole snapper nothing else. Haha.
We went to the best restuarant in town.
We watched the sunset.
We dined on the beach, under the stars again.
It was great.

Fun, needs no sleep.

It was sunday, and the agenda of the day was tile/wall painting. Well, it's not really painting, it's merely coating them with something called Protex. It's suppose to make it water proof and moss resistance or something. Anyway, it wasn't all that bad. The painting was pretty fun at first, but got boring after awhile. Well, we finished it anyhow, and we headed to Changi for dinner. Dinner was pretty good. Later, we rushed back to pack some clothes and headed over to shean's house. Well, we reached there at about 0015. We caught the match and spent the rest of the time just slacking around. It was nice, but it would have been better if more people had come. Anyway, playing pool, cards and soccer, it was great fun, just like old times. We didn't sleep at all and spent most of the time just lying on the legde of the balcony (we didn't fall off la), just talking. saw shooting stars, caught the sunrise. It was great, beautiful. In the morning, there was apparently an accident right outside the house. Scary man, the boy almost died la.. Bicycle versus car, what do you think. The boy was a mud la. Perhaps thought he was a dare devil or something. By Afternoon, Andrew went off to play soccer (that mutant of a man) and the rest of us went for Brunch. We bought some popiah and laska, then headed to some void deck to eat it. Haha, it was nothing close to fine dining, but yea, I would have enjoyed it all the same.

But everything looks perfect from far away

The World's Seven Best Wonders

A group of 10-year-olds in a school in the US were asked to list what they thought were the current seven wonders of the world. Although there were some disagreements, the following received the most votes:

1. Egypt's Great Pyramids
2. The Taj Mahal
3. The Great Canyon
4. The Panama Canal
5. The Empire State Building
6. St Peter's Basilica
7. China's Great Wall

While gathering the votes, the teacher noted that one quiet student hadn't turned in her paper yet. So she asked the girl if she was having trouble deciding.
The girl replied: "Yes, a little. I couldn't make up my mind because there are so many."
The teacher said: " Well, tell us what you have and maybe we can help."
The girl hesitated, then read: " I think the seven wonders of the world are to see, to hear, to touch, to taste, to feel, to laugh and to love."

The room was so quiet you could have heard a pin drop.
The simple and ordinary things we overlook are truly wondrous, and the most precious things in life are not man-made.

A 10-year old thought of this.
Would you have thought the same ?

An endless surprise.

Well, today was a dull day, lighted up and filled with bright people! Like a Christmas tree, levelled and sold at markets. These seemingly undecorated trees are like our everyday lives. And the people who we interact with are the littles light bulbs, the ornaments and once every long time or so, you'll meet the star, the creme da la creme, the paramount, one of the best persons to be with in the world. Well, for the past few days, I've been meeting this 'star' of my Christmas tree. Siewling, you've been great. And shopping with you isn't that bad either. Although, I've only know her for awhile, I feel a certain sense of de javu. Anyway, it appears we have a tendency of meeting up, from eating creamy chickens together, to meeting in secret :D, to meeting at Princess, to meeting for (supposedly) breakie, to meeting up for shopping. It's been fun! haha.

I met Miss Seet in orchard today, we went shopping. We ate at this really cool place. Pasta Cafe. I reminded me of our 'first date'. LOL.. (you've got to be kidding) But we ate pasta again. She had the cabonnara while I had this really great curry rice gratin. It's really yummy. Then we walked, and walked, talked and talked, shopped and shopped. It was great fun.

Well, today it was different, there were two stars.

Well, time would not allow this to last long and before i knew it, we parted ways and I headed down to yishun for EFC. It's been a long time, but i was there with Shean and Andrew, it was fun. Chris jioned us later with the ball and we kicked around. Fun. Just like old times.

Just like the good Ol' times.

it's 2 am and i just got back.. wow..
Today was a really great day.
The day started off with me going to Serangoon to meet a certain Miss Seet for breakie. Well, so much for breakie huh ? anyway, we had a fun time chit chatting and just enjoying each other's company. Later, I headed down to Geylang, to GZ's crib for some hanging-out time, I got lost. I mean lost-lost. Anyway, GZ came to pick me up and all was well. Played some games there, and Will came to join us later. I left earlier to meet up with Sery in Tampines to get something from her. Apparently she's working... Cool! Well, next on the agenda list was to meet up with the Kingdom! haha, 5 of us met up again. It was so fun. We talked about good Ol times and caught 007. It wasnt that bad, but I prefered the company.
Well, Hope many more days like this will come.
It's late and I cant blog anymore, my mind's slept already.

Will it still be the same ?
Please promise me so.

Message in a bottle.

Met Eli again, Today was her birthday. We went to PS to get bottles, pens and paper. We bought some soda in a glass bottle. A walk by the beach was on our agenda. Due to rain, we found ourselves at the airport instead. Eli ate her favourite Ban-Mian, while i settled for a below-par Laksa and a Tau Hwey. Later, we stocked up on beverages and chocolates and headed to Changi Beach. We sat on a break water, and dreamed, talked and watched many many airplanes go by. After that, we made messages in bottles and headed further down the beach. Before the day expired, I threw my bottle into the sea. It was getting dark. It was nice. There's no better way to put it.

Perhaps one day, you'll get it.
Perhaps.

Day of Dreamers.

*note, names have been changed. but not to prevent embarassment to the muds, but merely because, we dont know their names.

2 muds, Ali and Baba[Not their real names], were walking on the rooftop of Vivo City (you know, opposite Sentosa). Ali asked Baba, ' Eh, Brudder.. *points to the merlion* you think that is Sentosa ? ' Baba replied, ' Ya lah, should be...'
(---___---)

Seriously. This wasn't a fabricated conversation. It was real!
So, I met Eli today. We were supposed to go to a black-out town, but decided to go to Vivo instead. So, we were there, walked around abit, tried on alot of weird shit.. haha. Then, we headed down to Kopitiam for a meal. Well, with bananas and Pink dolphins in my bag, we went to the rooftop for a sit. There, we talked and talked. Photo-whored. Talked and talked. The rain gods got jealous and before long, sent down a shower to chase us into the shelter. We decided to slack by a slanted wall. While we repeated the same process .(: After that, we went to buy some sushi, sat by the water front, and ate them crossed-legged, japanese style. Wait, dont they kneel ? argh, nvm.. Anyway, it was great. I had alot of fun. Thank you, Eli.(:

I've thought long and hard, there's no better way to put it. I simply miss you.

Happy birthday Mummy

It was mom's birthday.
I woke up pretty late. Took some time off., and did something i haven't done in a long time. It was fun. After that, I came back for lunch and help shift some pots around. OMG, the pots weigh like 472158465786456456 tonnes each. Well, i accidently got wet paint on my hand. Curses. Still cant wash it off. Well, later me and my sis headed down to J8 to get a pair of earrings for my mom. We chose a lovely pair of heart-shaped ones. White gold. I have no idea whats the difference between that and silver though. Well, after the gift, we met Dad and went to thompson plaza to eat. We dined at a place called peach garden. After that we headed home and here I am now. Well, Happy Birthday Mummy!

My clock stop!! oh my God!! Oh, wait... It wasn't the clock. It was time. :(

Shattered Rose-Tinted Glasses.

Lot's have happened lately. A game ended, and new hand dealt. 2 paths crossing. An apple on a withered tree.

I made a new friend recently. Her name is Miss Seet. She's smart, witty and cute. And so familiar, I don't know why. It's amazing how there are 2143546475654 people out there and you only met afew of them. who knows, your next best friend could be passing by your doorstep this very instance. Well, isn't that what makes life, life ?

Huimin's really gone off to Poly. The selfish part of me dont want her to go. But everybody has to do what he or she has to do. And it's better anyway. Many a times, the door of your life is left ajar, people walk in and out. You can't change that.

A friend stayed up til the wee hours of the night to make me a CD. That's just so cool. Thank you, Dee. That has got to be the best gift in the world. Maybe I'm amazed at the way you cheer me up.

I'm gonna brace myself for this bend in the road.

Guy Fawkes Day.

Remember, remember the fifth of November,
Gunpowder treason and plot.
We see no reason
Why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot!
Guy Fawkes, guy, T'was his intent
To blow up king and parliament.
Three score barrels were laid below
To prove old England's overthrow.
By God's mercy he was catch'd
With a darkened lantern and burning match.

-------------------------------------

Today was a scary day. Me my bro and my cousins were supose to go to a concert by Parachute Band. My sis went with one of my friends, Steph. However, as we were on the verge reaching lighthouse (the church where the concert was held). Steph called, and told me that my sis fainted. :/ yea.. I was like.. 'Huh?' So i rushed back to admiralty to meet them. After which I took a cab back to Yishun to send my sis to my grandma's.Then I headed back to catch the concert. But I missed alot. ): Well, anyway, it was still good.
Thanks Silly. You were a real help. (:

Crystal ball.

Ok, I'll let all of you look through the crystal ball into my life once again. The crystal ball you all call, a blog.

Well, it was the 26th oct 06' We have a class chalet. But just a mini one. It was pretty sudden. Well, the initial plan of having it on friday was scrapped, due to the fact that we couldn't get a booking. So, we had it on thursday indstead. We had a little bbq. and we spent the night mainly playing cards and playing the PS2. It wasn't all that bad. Well, I didn't get much sleep. I was awaken by andria to play smack. Well, I lost. Obviously. After that we went to get breakfast. We decided on having marshmallows for breakfast. So, off we went to the bbq pit. After a few pokes in the dying charcoals, we were able to rekindle some fire to roast out marshmallows. Well, after breakfast, I went to catch some Zs. Before that, I built a card pyramid. But Yuting apparently thought she was the main cast in some Godzilla movie, and she savagely levelled my poor helpless pyramid. Well, after a bath we went for some real food. Namely, Macdonalds. After a fail experiment. The rest headed down to escape. While me and terrence went to play pool. But what followed was a utter destruction of terrence. Unless you call a 16-1 scoreline marginal. haha. I found myself at whitesands meeting Huimin, Jo, Chern, Mahes and Dung. Well, we headed to Sery's place as she had invited us. We chilled there for awhile. After some delicious chicken wings, we left the place. Then Huimin, Jo, Chern and I headed over to Pasir ris Park. We decided to try blading again. Not very smart. haha. After that, we parted ways and went home.

Well, considering I have hardly any memory of the other hapenings that happened. I conclude that they are uninteresting. Therefore, I shall not burden you with my boring tales.

*Covers the crystal ball with a purple piece of cloth*

Thought.

Why?So often, questions starting with this word cannot be answered.
Why do bad things happen although people say there's a higher order ?
Why do things go out of plan even though careful planning is carried out ?
Why do some people seem to win everything without lifting a finger ?
Why do others, just cant seem to get anything out of life when they put in their heart and soul into it ?

Why do the things that happen happen ?
Why do bad things happen to good people ?
Why do good things happen to bad people ?
Or rather,
Why do good things happen to good people ?
Why do bad things happen to bad people ?

Is there some weird 'Wheel Of Fortune' game going on up there ?
Or are we all in a long poker game ?
That every card dealt may be good or bad ?
Perhaps we all caught in a Toss-A-Dice scenario ?
Or are our lives determined by no more than a flip of a coin ?
Are all our lives just a streak of luck, whether good or bad ?

Or are our lives like a flipping the pages of a finished storybook ? A tragedy, or a Happily Ever After.
All planned out, where nothing (or anything) we do will not change the course of our lives.
Or are our lives like a quilt to parchment ?
Every scratch making a new story. Masters of our own ?

Will we ever know ?
Is there even a difference ?

Snippets from a diary.

Ok, so i know I haven't been blogging. Well, exams are a thing of the past and most people are out there in the real world, doing interesting stuff instead of documenting it. Well, ok, I'll cut to the chase now.

18 Oct 06'
Well, i know that exams aren't over yet. But the post-exam mood has gotten to most of us by now. Well, I went out to study literature. Well, I was at an immature estate studying. And it was very nice. It's a shame that mature estates dont have the things immature estates have. And whats worst, is that we are ridden with loafers and delinquents under almost every void deck. :/ Well, anyway, today was fun!! who'd guess sculptures could be so fun ?

19 Oct 06'
PROMOS ARE OFFICIALLY OVER!!!!! It's a real burden off our chests, shoulders, and all other parts of our bodies. We started out our liberty march by a session of soccer. After soccer, I realised my good luck charm (EZ link card) was kidnapped. so I had to borrow Meng Hang's card. Thanks man, I still owe you a dollar. Anyway, heade down to Vivo City. It was cool, it's huge man. But not many shops are opened yet, so it was abit of a bore. Had sort of a mini class gathering there. There was Eleanor, Jo, Huimin, Chern, Dung and of course, yours truly. Well, after the ordeal of walking was completed, we headed to Chern's place to slack, before going home.

20 Oct 06'
Ok, so me, Chern,Jo and Huimin met up to go to east coast park for cycling. We met at Khatib before making our way to AMK to take 135 to marine parade. While waiting, I bought myself a chocolate icecream. But the cone was soggy.. Eeewww.. Stupid icecream man. Anyway, we boarded the bus, and 45 minutes later, and many bus-stops later, we ended up in marine parade. I bought myself a honey bubble tea before heading to east coast. That day, the wind was so so so strong!! haha.. super fun!! there were leaves flying around and me and Jo had a leaf catching competition, I think it was a draw ? haha. Our initial plan was to get to Changi Village. So we rented two double bikes and went on our way. We stopped awhile at bedok jetty to soak in the scenic view. But soon a s;ight drizzle forced us to go back down the jetty and hide in the shadows of the trees. So, we cycled and cycled. Till we cycled on the road. It was scary, considering there were cars, hell-bent on killing us. Jo became my rear view mirror, haha we had to keep on swaying from left to right in order to aviod the cars, vans and lorries. The place we ended up at was really cool. It was the airport runway, where the plane took off and landed. We were very close to the landing planes as well as those taking off. We rode our bikes down along the road, but as fate would have it, the path stopped halfway. we crossed the road to try our luck. But even lady luck stood stern, and our path ended halfway too. Dejected, we headed back and stopped by Safra Resorts to get a drink. we slacked there for awhile before continuing our journey back home. However, we decided to let the rookies have some fun so, me and Huimin changed places with Jo and Chern respectively. My rookie was better!! muahaha.. although I got alot of bruises and scratches, but Jo's a really fast learner, either that or Chern's really slow. Haha. So, steadily, we made our way back and returned our modes of transportation back to its rightful owners. We then headed to Parkway Parade to feast on dinner. We had Yoshinoya. The food was not bad. Then after that, we headed to a big hawker centre to eat deserts. :D It was DE-LICIOUS. I had some weird Guava thing while Jo had this excellent Mango concortion Huimin and Chern shared some jelly thingy. After that, we headed back home to end off a very good day.
21 Oct 06'
Was supposed to meet up with Jo, Huimin and chern again to have a stayover at Chern's. I was late as usual. I only went at 10 plus, and when I reached, Jo already had to go, but we did give her the chocolate bar, haha. We played Monopoly Juniour, I got owned la. Nono, Pwned. haha.. Well, in short, I had to apply for bankruptcy. But later we played Hotels. I owned la.. woohoo.. haha. I got about 50k more than the others. Huimin had to declare bankrupt. Muahaha. Well, and we did lotsa silly silly things. Things that shall not be mentioned here. (:
22 Oct 06'
Woke up at Chern's place. Slacked for awhile. Ate dumplings and drank some nice honey drink for breakie. Watched abit of Bleach. After that, I headed to meet my dad to go to a Dog show at Expo. However, We ended up viewing the MPH sale and the Metro sale. But it was a cute sight. There were dogs running all over expo. haha. Well, after that, headed down to Changi Vill to eat. Headed back to have a retarded conversation with a certain Miss Seet.
23 Oct 06'
Ok, we had school today. I came late. It was a bore. So, I caught a movie with Huimin, Jo and Eleanor. We watched Deathnote. OMG, Kira is so cool. I wonder how come geniuses in shows are so cool, aren't they suppose to be white, be-spectacled and round ? Well, in anyway, Kira is cool. L's not so bad too. But Kira's Sister is cute.(: after thats, we realised we had nothing better to do, so we headed to town to slack. Eleanor went to meet her friends. The girls had, umm.. some shopping to do. Well, lets just leave it at that. Oh, yea, we walked all the way to Tanglin Mall to eat, haha it was fun. We headed home after that.
24 Oct 06'
Today's a public holiday. So, We headed to East Coast Park again. It ws like our seventh straight day meeting up, haha, it's seriously having negative effects on my poor wallet. So Me, Huimin, Jo and Chern met up at AMK to catch 135 to Marine parade. We also were meeting Huimin's sis and her fren to go blading. the funny thing is, only Chern knows how to blade while the rest of us are n00bs. I had my duck noodles before heading to ECP for blading. Only after we rented the blades were we approached by a guy who offered free lessons with free blades and eqiupment. (-.-) It's funny how life sometimes turn out. So we just tried to blade around in cicles. Small circles. After that, we brought ourselves and our blades onto the mainstream traffic of bikes and blades to test out our new found skills. Yea, we're not that good. We headed to the place and took up the free lessons. Well, after that we could blade quite well already, so hey, it was a good day afterall. We then headed to Parkway Parade to eat. We ate at banquet. After that we went on our separate ways back home.
25 Oct 06'
Had school today. Bleah.. It sucked. I had to come for 1 hr of PW and wait 6 hours for my next lesson. WHAT THE HELL MAN. Seriously, YJC's system is stupid. Just downright dumb. Anyway, 'When its hard to beat the system, Cheat' and I did just that. A few scratches here and there is worth it. I caught the 1245 Prestige. It's a cool show. The storyline, and the message. But its a little disturbing. After that, I met up with Eleanor, Jo and Huimin to eat. Then Eleanor went to play basketball to pursue her MVP ambitions. Huimin and Jo wanted to play with my dog. So I went home to get it. We then, went to hill beside my house to play with it. haha. It was fun. My dog is so shagged. haha. I went down to get something only to see my dog, ruffled hair, coming out of her bed to greet me. But only two steps from the bed and she laid back down and stared at me from there. haha. SO CUTE! Anyway, I carried her back to her bed after that. I'm not that evil a guy.

Phew' that took long.
I'll try to upload the pics and put the links here.

What's over is over.

It's amazing how one person can brighten up your whole day.

Ok, today was maths.. Bleh..
It was one of those killer papers..

After the paper, was in the dumps, felt rather screwed. So, in an attempt to take my mind off things, I went for a movie, Staying Alive. Or something like that. It was suppose to be a thriller.. but it was a Horror!! OMG.. I don't do well in horror flicks. But it did get my mind off things a little. But soon, reverted back to that sucky feeling. I just hope there's an escape route to this one.
Anyway, I don't really care about it anymore. Just gonna live in the moment :P I'll deal with it when the time comes. Well, talking to this little girl really made my day.
Thanks, Little Girl. :D

Nostalgia, aftermath of transience.

Well, well...
This's a nice picture isn't it ?
Anyway, was being as youths of our generation were supposed to be.. Emo ? besides, I've come to the conclusion on why teenagers are emo nowadays, well, it simply boils down to... They have way way too much free time... What do teenagers do when they're bored ? they think about the little things in life, their past, their present and their future? The older people probably got used to the dissapointments in life ?haha.. enough about this chicken or egg scenario...

So, was thinking about my church friends I used to hang out with, found out, i'm not really close with them anymore... Playing soccer till the wee hours, watching stars, running around yio chu kang playing soccer at 3am, all over the road.. trying to cook our own meals.. all things of the past.. Transient things.. But hey, who says thats a bad thing ? there's always an upside, always.
At least there are memories, pictures and artifects from those times.. haha
A good friend once referred to nostalgia as a double-edged sword. I can't help but agree... but hey,the world is full of contradictions. A friend once told me that memories aren't meant to pull you down, it's meant to lift your spirits when you're down...Well, life's just the way you look at life..

Isn't life like a puppet show ? Put on a 15 min frequency. Everytime a puppet show ends, there's the closed curtains of the stage, never letting a peek or two. But there's always the 2nd, 3rd or the 4th.. This never-ending cycle keeps repeating itself til the end of the day. It's just like life, where you pass through phases, there's always another event to waiting to happen, life's a never-ending journey of puppet shows, enjoy your puppet shows before the day ends.. (:

What if life's nothing but a surreal dream, and death, it's crude awakening ?

Mid-Autumn Festival !! 06-10-06

Haha! Mid Autumn was fun!!!

haha.. ok.. School started off good... I came to school in shorts since there was only 1 lesson on friday.. Chemistry.
ok.. I fell down.. painful.. ow..
Considering, I played soccer recently and injured my knee... this was not good.. So, guess afterschool soccer was definately out of the question.. Well, played soccer with some of the girls during PE, and that was that... After school, Chernie and Huimin wanted to study.. me and Joce didn't, so me and joce went window shopping while they went to mug, we were gonna meet later to play lanterns so, it was ok..Window shopping was fun.. ended up walking from somerset to suntec. After buying some sushi for huimin, we headed down to AMK to meet the rest. We went to chernie's house to play lanterns.. It was so much fun.. and my dog got burnt ? haha.. silly doggy, should have known not to play with fire :P

Escape- 30th sept 2006

Ok, tuition was pushed ahead, so that i could meet chern hui, hui min and joce to go to escape. Well, I initially wanted to walk there, but it was drizzling. So, I took a bus. Finally, I got to escape where i met them. But as we got in, it begun to rain and most of the rides were 'closed due to bad weather'. So, we tried the only attraction that was open, Haunted house. Ok, I was the only guy, so I guess i'm expected to be the 'brave' one ? haha.. i wasn't much of a braveheart. But compared to the girls, I think I did not bad.(: Chernhui and huimin were screaming about 80% of the time. Joce was afriad of hitting the ghost, I was afraid of getting hit by the ghost.. Well, I think we're lame, we got scared by the same ghost 2 times in a row. The second time, we even heard the ghost laughing at us. Not the scary manical laughter, but more of a tickled laugh.. yea, lame, I know.. after that the rain got super heavy, and trapped us in this little shelter. Funny! In the end, we settled in BK while waiting for the rain to let up. There, we lamented on why it should rain today, of all days and talked about many other things, like metrosexuals and sex change. Ok, so after the rain let up, we took a stroll around the theme park, and found out that many of the ride were still 'closed due to bad weather'. So, we decided to go cycling while waiting for the rides to re-start. Since only me and Huimin could cycle, we rented two of those double bikes. Joce was my partner, while Chern, Huimin's. It was quite fun. We stopped halfway to try the spider's web. It was so fun! We took many photos while on the web as well. Soon, we found ourselves back at escape trying out all the rides. We tried many cool rides, but i think the most unforgetable one was the Revolution. We were upside down!! haha..after riding the Go-Kart(Ok, i missed out this part, Jocelyn is a road-hazard, haha.. damn funny!!) we headed to Sery's crib where we slacked. Watched this really weird/disturbing show, while we waited for Huimin's extreme makeover. I scared Joce while watching the show, so much for claiming she wasn't scared in the Haunted house. So, after Huimin's transformation, She rushed off while me, Sery, Chern and Joce headed to white sands to dine at Cavana. After eating, we slacked at Newyork Pizza for a long time, just talking... The rest, are still kept in between that invisible 4 walls.

Winning by doing nothing. Losing, by doing everything.

W O R L D S

Today was a rather crappy day. Didn't feel like myself. So, left school early, took a bath and power napped. Tried to do econs, by it's way too hard. I don't understand the topic at all. Anyway, a little up-side to it is that, chocolate eggs and econs go well together. (:

Haha, well, just crapping.

Somtimes you just make me feel like a third class citizen.

Weirdest sentence said today: ' I'll go wash off the mosquito from my hand, I'll get back to you later'.

Well, i saw this video, 'Free Hugs' campaign
I just think it's awesome. That no matter who you are, or where you are, you can brighten someone else's day. No need for a hug, just a smile would do. It just tells of how significant the little things you do in your everyday lives are.
'Everybody is too caught up in the bullshit hype drama in our daily lives to care about other people.'

Heh, maybe there's hope for a better world after all.

Out of the blue.

Ok, I know my blog lately has not been making sense to most of you. So, I"ll stop playing yogi and cease all of my foolish ramblings and parables.. haha..
Started off the day very tired.. was 'zombiefied' from morning to early afternoon. Well, I ate pancakes for breakfast (: and a spud for lunch. Then we played soccer during our break. Before long, it was once again PE and we got ready. We played volleyball instead of soccer. Bummer. At least we didn't have to do the stupid warm-up. Then we had this sexuality talk. It wasn't all that bad. I mean, it addressed certain key issues, and it was quite interesting, except for the immature laughter that filled the audi whenever a boy and girl is alone(In the video). Well, that's that. Boring and mediocre isn't it.. Well, welcome to my life.. haha..
Cheers!

Growing up ?

Well, the day started off rather creepily. Me and my bro were walking past liang seah street. Its a street opposite bugis. Well, we saw at a nearby coffeeshop, there was a group of women sitting at a table. They were mumbling something within themselves, before signalling us nearer.Well, in all friendliness, we went. We heard them speaking Thai. Yes, we know abit of Thai. But thats not the weird part. Listen (or read, whatever) closely. The closer we got, we noticed something wasn't right. Like Spiderman's spider sense, our gut churned and we started to notice something was not normal. The women, were well-built. I mean Arnold Schwarzenegger built. They had broad shoulders.
'Oh, F*** this' went my bro.
'Shit, are they ?'
' Oh F*** yea.'
' What the...'
And we heard them in their deep, manly voices.( In case you are still clueless to what they are, THEY ARE FREAKING TRANNIES!!!)[In case you don't know what are tranies, THEY ARE FREAKING TRANSVETITES!!]{In case you don't know what those are, THEY ARE MEN!! MEN!! MEN WHO BECAME WOMEN!!!} ok, so we creeped out...

Whatever they said to us will not be revealed on this blog, for children may be reading it. :)

Well, I shan't re-live that horrible moment again. BUT IT'S JUST SOO DAMN DISGUSTING!!!! OMG!!! AAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

kghsglkgdflhgsfadgvgkusvaguygkwagvgsjkdsjaghlhvvhgbg vegvywlkthfAGAJGLHFB

ok.. that's better.(:

Well, later we headed down to my cousin's place for her birthday.Got her a black little pig. or little black pig, whatever. Happy Birthday Celeste!
Well, I thought i could meet up with everyone. but alot of them didn't turn up. Well, life's like that, they've grown up and moved on. It's high time we follow suit. Anyway, I doubt Michelle will read my blog, so if you're reading this, well, you know my blog. haha. So, we were playing with Michelle's boyfriend.Ben. The very fact she has a boyfriend, show's that we're really growing up. :) Well, anyway we did the usual soccer and some basketball, before crapping. It was fun, it wasn't different(At least, I hope.).

Well, thats it for this edition of Derrick & life.

Flying is not that hard.

I used to think that I could not go on
And life was nothing but an awful song
But now I know the meaning of true love
I'm leaning on the everlasting arms
If I can see it, then I can do it
If I just believe it, there's nothing to it
See I was on the verge of breaking down
Sometimes silence can seem so loud
There are miracles in life I must achieve
But first I know it starts inside of me
If I can see it, then I can be it
If I just believe it, there's nothing to it

Ramblings of a fool.

Standing on a hill overlooking the town, the teen thought to himself, 'Finally i'm out of this dreaded town. I'm gonna leave this place and make it big!'. His friends all begged him to stay, to stay and have fun. Even his best friend, said to him she couldn't bear to see him go and begged him to stay but he refused. He left that town, coming to the city, and he made it big. In the world of business, corrupt or not, unscrupulous or not, he made it big. But in the big city, he guarded himself from everyone else, he never had a friend for more than a week in fear that he would be betrayed, and he, betrayed many others. He was a successful man. One day while on his car, he noticed the route back to his old home. He decided to visit. Now, standing on a hill overlooking the city, the man wondered what happened to the little town he once knew. But a more overwhelming feeling filled him, he wanted to see his friends. Rushing down to the town, he checked out their usual haunts but couldn't find them. Finally he saw them all gathered together at a cafe, he went over to say hi. Somehow, he couldn't relate to them anymore, their topics became nothing more than childish ramblings, as they talked about the old times. But he knew someone who would accept him as he is, someone who he shared his thoughts and feelings with, someone who would make him feel at home again. He went to his best friend's house, knocked on the door, she came out and smiled,' Hi, who are you looking for?' He was shattered, all he said were,'I'm sorry, wrong house.' and walked away. The pang in his chest, he couldn't believe she would forget him. There was nothing left for him here.

He had it all, but threw it all away. Time changes people, we can never ignore that. But perhaps the only thing we can possibly do, is to make the right choices. Without regrets.

Food for thought.

Life's like that.

I can't believe it. It's funny how life unfolds. Things I never thought would happen are coming true. :) I don't understand how and why ? but anyhow, it happened. But I guess it's better this way.For the both of us. Take care, I'm finally letting you go. I can't help but just wonder....
This is going to get interesting.

As pages of the calender are turned, people will change. And the person you once knew is gone forever, but for a small fragment, who lives as memory.

Fear, needless.

Been feeling uncertain lately, due to things happening in my life. Transcience is probably the only word to describe this situation. I just dont get it, when will everything just stop ? Today I ended off the day thinking about what I have done, and what went wrong, and what went right. I'm afriad of what the future has install for me. It's a heartbreak. When you look back and realised that your past, the very thing you stood for, at that point of time, everything you ever wanted, was nothing more then a foolish thought. It's funny how life works sometimes. I'm afriad this life i'm living now will turn into one of those foolish thoughts, wouldn't that be interesting ? (:
Well, I'm not prepared for it, but life should be this way.
Full of surprises.

All kites go to heaven.

Woke up pretty late, ate and left the house. We were supposed to meet at 2. I told menghang I would be late, and I reached at about 2.05pm, well, I still was late. I met a very early Delia at the control station and waited for the much anticipated arrival of Menghang. It was roughly 2.40pm, and Menghang appeared. We got on the train where we talked and sent nosensical messages to people. Before long, we reached Marina bay. We waited until everyone reached before embarking on our bus-ride to marina south. We stopped at the kite-shop where we stocked up on our 'fun-things'. We bought a frisbee and two kites before heading to the feild. After finishing their lunches, evan and menghang joined us at the feild. As the rest were playing with Trisbee (thats our name for our frisbee), Delia and I started attempting to fly the kite. We failed. (: Soon, the arrival of Sunny marked the start of our Ultimate Trisbee. It was so much fun! We must play it again! Well, the guys bought a ball, it was pretty cool.Black. After frisbee, we played a little soccer where we all got dirty(me at least). After soccer, we went on our second attempt to fly the kite. This time, with success. At first, we ran around like idiots trying to get the kite up.Soon, Delia got her kite up and away. Inspired by her success, me and Weien(the negro snail who's afraid of cats) managed to get the 2nd kite up as well. Kites are so fun! And the view of the kite is really breath-taking. Soon, Delia freed her kite which flew happily to heaven. I tied mine to the goal post.(:
We headed to 'No pork, No lard' for dinner. The food was not bad. The company was Great. With a capital 'G'. We played the mystery number to finish the food, absolutely fun!! Will try to post the pics and video here. Well, went back to check on my kite. It was still there, and trying to break free. So, we made a wish and sent it on its way to heaven. (:

'Where do all kites go when they fly away?'
'Heaven'

'Where do you think the kite will fly to?'
'Heaven'

Fireworks.

Fireworks are a work of art. They offer spectacular sights and veiws for the audience. But this beautiful event is often short lived. For a period of time, the whole entire black night sky is lit up by it's light, by it's beauty. But often, after this short period is over, the sky returns to its dark and unfeeling self. Well, all good things don't last long, much less forever.
Bleh. just a spurt of my randomness.

Losing sight of shore, and finding new oceans.

It was roughly 7.20am and the students of YJC were slowly but steadily filling up the parade square, and about 2 hrs later, all of these students were transported to Pula Ubin for OBS.
We were sorted of into watches and mine was Hillary(: and my watch members are Andria, Dung, Jocelyn, Eleanor, HuiMin, Winnie, Da Jie, Li jun, Li Fang, Cherlyn, Yuting, Sery, Will, GZ and Terrence. It was a pity that WeiLun and ShanHong couldn't be in our watch, they were allocated to ArmStrong instead. But hey, everything works out.And thats just what happened in the course of the next 5 days. We were then introduced to our instructor, Iskandar or for short, simply Is. The activities kicked off with us learning basic kayaking techniques. And, as fate would have it, my kayaking partner was none other then...
*Drum rolls*
Huimin!! Even after she vowed not to be my partner the day before. We first started off quite smoothly with us doing the lifejackets tests and stuff like capsizing and life saving. Although I kayaked before, kayaking with Huimin was a whole new experience :P It was loads of fun!

After kayaking, we went Jetty-Jumping. We walked out to the jetty where there was a sort of walk-the-plank scenario. One by one, we walked up to the plank and shouted something that we missed most before taking the leap. Perhaps I wasn't too serious about it, but because I wasn't missing anything, I was having fun here in OBS. We had tent-pitching and cooking lessons after that. Da Jie and company decided to cook rice while the rest were pitching their tents. We were all super hungry, so the burnt food tasted better than ever to us. We were more than happy to gobble down all the food. Maybe it wasn't really the hunger which made the food so good, perhaps it was because it was our friends who were the ones doing the cooking. (:
We slept and woke up at about 530 ?
After being brutally woken up, I spent about half the morning wandering around like a zombie while trying my best to go about my daily routine.
After breakfast, we were ask to do the Helium Hoop. It was an impossible task where everyone was only allowed to use one finger to hold up the hoop. But the important thing here was not the game, it was the lesson. After we failed, we apparently focused on our bad points instead of our good ones. Soon, we ended up at a small patch of grass where we played the 'blade of grass', were we just line up in rows of threes and get pushed back and forth by our watch-mates, putting our trust of one another to the test. We also played the 'Washing Machine' which is just an improved form of the blade of grass. We did the 'Trust Fall' after that, where we pulled a large peice of canvas and asked our classmates to fall on it. It was really great and nice, we learned to trust our classmates more. Halfway throughout the jump, the teachers from YJC showed up... including... MR WOO!!! haha!!!
We took some pictures with them before heading uphill for high elements. We challenged Armstrong in rock-climbing, it was really fun, despite the fact I twisted my wrist early on. Towards the end, we saw this really huge spider, and me, Kai zhi and Kenny were feeding it those big ants, while doing so, an ant bit me, it was really painful.Serious.Even now, as I type there's a slight sting to it.. hmm.. think there a weak poison in it or something. After this, we set off for our expeditions. We had to pack our bag with loads of things.Food, clothes, water and many other things. After packing, we ended up with bags which weighed a ton or more. We embarked on our journey with the company of Armstring and Shackleton. I was the land expedition leader for Hillary, and i ended up also leading the other two watches. heh heh... admirable huh?
On our way there, I found a... DURIAN!!! serious!! no joke! it was quite big also... but, unfortunately, we weren't allowed to consume it, due to campsite regelations.Bummer. Iskandar took it. Before long, we reached the campsite, and we were shocked to find out that the campsite was no more than a mere clearing of gravel
. After coming to terms with our surroundings, we did the usual tent-pitching and cooking. I, will, GZ and terrence had to do sentry duty. So, after we all settled down and litsen to the briefing by our Sea Expedition Leader, Andria, we stayed awake for our sentry duty. However, we fell asleep halfway on Armstrong's blue tarp. After a few hours of sleep and many many insect bites we awoke to a beautifully sunrise-lit sky. Then, we were given the back-breaking task of transferring our kayaks to the beach. We also had to carry all the bags, jerry cans and tents into a boat. After which, we just floated around in the water for awhile. While floating around, I asked Is, how was the durian.
He said :'I won't lie to you, it was the best I ever had'. (-_-) And before we knew it, the sea expedition begun. I was once again partnered up with Huimin. But this time, I worked like a dog and we managed to stay within the first half of kayaks. We paddled from sea to swamp, then from swamp to sea again.
Ok, this is the most interesting part, the kayaking. As you all should know by now, my partner was HUI MIN! haha.Well, while everyone was paddling straight, we were travelling zig-zag. I'm positive we covered more distance than anyone else in Mobile D(Hillary, Armstrong & Shackleton). At the rivermouth, where we were supposed to turn past this two gates, we ended up almost banging into the gates.(-_-) Almost, because I used my paddle to push us away.Haha. We crashed into trees times too many to count. but we did a world-class turn to get past a tree, which was in the middle of the swamp, by travelling diagonally under its branches, whereas everyone else was going around it. Guess there's hope for us after all. After paddling, for a very long time, and many, many crashes later, we reached a mud bunk. If we had actually left on time, we would have been able to paddle past it, but however, we were left with the messy task of carrying our kayaks over-land to get past the bunk. When u get out of the kayak, that feeling, when your shoes enter the water and reaches the mud. It's priceless. That soft, sticky, dirty, mucky mud. It engulfs your shoes in a probably swirling vortex of mud.Ok, i'm being lame here. But, seriously, your shoes get stuck in the mud, and its very very hard to get it out. Well, after I got my kayak over the bunk, I put on some mud as war-paint and continued on my journey. We managed a break, and I feasted on oreos while huimin 'borrowed' a fruity bar from me. After that, we kayaked for awhile more before stopping for our scheduled break. After awhile, I figured that this was to wait for the tide to come into the swamp. So, as to better paddle out. This break resulted in alot of ants coming into our kayaks and for something to get into my eye. Thankfully, Andria was kind enough to blow it out for me. Then we managed to get our ant-infested kayak back into the water. While waiting for the other kayaks to hit water, we rafted up with a few other kayaks from Hillary and just drifted along the river(swamp). We drifted for very long and I fell asleep.I found out that I can sleep while holding on to things very well.(: After zig-zagging our way out of the swamp, and getting banged countless times by the infamous 'terrorist' of Shakleton, we were faced with the daunting task to paddling in the deep blue(green) sea. Though the sea was so big, we still ended up combing the whole area. I paddled my heart out, and every other organ with it. We were not that bad, considering we were still at the top half of the kayaks, thanks to my hard paddling. after reaching the beach, the feeling is indescribable. when you jump into the cool waters, its like heaven. Well, I helped steered other kayaks in while in the water. After emptying the kayaks of water, we debriefed for awhile. Come to think of it, throughout the entire journey, we never travelled straight before, haha. But hey, to all people out there, if you want to get a kayaking partner, get one like Huimin! It was great fun. Haha, no regrets there, kayaking partner! (:
Before we knew it, we were already on our way to our next point, Camp 1. We emptied the jerry cans and went on our way.We made very good time, with we being the 1st team to reach there. After bathing(IT WAS DAMN SHIOK!!) and having dinner, we made history. By being the 1st watch(both mobile and residential) to use one use one of the learning rooms. The Kilimanjaro Room. We were asked to fill up our journals and go for supper. Upon returning from supper, we did an activity where we were asked to name the ideal and unideal follower and leader. Later we also did the Pig Activity (: It was so much fun. After that, we hit the sack. Soon, we awoke and had an activity. The Raft-Escape. We were supposed to all squeeze onto 3 planks and six blocks of wood and try to get to the centre of the parade square(we were all at the sides) and also without the planks touching the floor. Well, even with us having the most people, we still managed to get the furthest. Haha, so we won. We then celebrated with a hearty breakfast of bee hoon and sausage. Up next was Raft-Building, our raft was not as promising as the rest in the beginning but slowly and surely, our raft soon materialized. our raft looked the worst of the lot, and frankly, I didn't mind swimming. But as it turns out, we had the best raft.(: IT WAS SOLID MAN!!!After our bath, it was our high elements. I was belayer, which was rather fun because I get to poke fun at the people I was belaying. But I was so tired, I was afriad I would fall asleep or something. Due to the insufficient time, me and andria had to go over to Shackleton's side for our high elements. We thought it was easier, due to the colorful obstacles. But we couldn't be more wrong. It was so much harder. haha, but we made it in one piece. So proud of us. haha. After that, we packed up and went back to Camp 2. We reached there in a very short time, considering we took a super-short cut. And we spent the rest of the day, slacking, packing, cooking and pitching tents. It was the last day already. And frankly, it came too fast. We met Is for breakfast. It was a hearty breakfast, with Is cooking Milo for us (: which was real nice, considering he wasn't obliged to. After our breakfast, we have went to a shack nearby and slacked while we drew each others names and wrote about them. This was really great. but however I felt that we should have done one for each of us and vice-versa. Then, it was the jigsaw puzzle game, which taught us the value of teamwork. Then it was the cheer. I thought that Junko should have won, since cook's one was taken from our orientation booklet. not fair. After this we headed back to Singapore. We went to compasspoint next, we had KFC.. WOW, when the chicken enters your jaws, it's beautiful. haha, we had alot of fun talking about OBS. We all parted ways after that. But Andria made sure she saw everyone home first before she herself went home. I thought that it was very sweet of her.
Well, one thing's for sure, OBS was sure fun!!! and there's no arguments there. Over there, it's the tests before the lessons. Others Before Self.

I'm too young to die.

Ok, I'm not emo.
Though my previous posts seems to suggest otherwise, it's merely the usual ups and downs of life.
In fact I'm relatively happy.
Lets use this entry to look back and make a census of all my 'life enhancers'.

My dog-lindy.

haha, ain't she just adorable?
Sometimes she's the only one who understands me (:
She's the best listener i know.
ok.. i'm being lame here.

Then, there's the Kingdom.
Well it was roughly 10pm on the 26th of Nov 2004 in a little place in Yishun called EFC.It was the briefing of the youth camp.
Me,desmond,chris,vic and andrew first met.
We were all bunkmates in a way or another.
We had lots of fun at the camp and we bonded really well.
Still got together for a whole week straight after the camp.
Then at the turn of the new year, we had jon, nic and shawn.
They added youth to the group and made us more ento.
After 2 years and many Christian concerts and many many soccer matches, we're still friends, but not as close.
But still they played an important role in my life.
Love you guys!

T10!!!
How could I ever forget you guys?
I love you guys way way way too much!
Though we may not be as close as we used to be, it's always with fondness that I think back of the times we shared.
The games against T11, the Whacko stick, the Jam & Hop.
The infamous T10 table, our very own pillar, those times we spent there.
Photo-whoring, talking, just chilling, sleeping, telling jokes, sharing stories, playing games, it was just so much fun.
The days when we would rush down after class, during our breaks or afterschool to check if anyone was there.
Buying our food and bringing it all the way there to eat.
Playing with D, the cat.
Using her to scare people like Wei en or Minyi.
I really miss those times.
Sneaking into M18 movies, going for late night supper.
Those were the days.
Guys, I love you all!

115!!
You guys are Great!
I think that you guys are the best class in YJC, and I wouldn't leave this class no matter what.
The girls are a great interesting bunch of people, while the guys are gentlemen to the bone.
There ain't a better combination than that in the whole of YJC.
Had lots of outings, always playing.
Words just can't capture how I feel bout you guys!

If a picture paints a thousand words, need I say more ?
It's nine thousand words!!!

A Blessing In Disguise.

Thank God.
I know many would have been hurt, dissapointed or even insulted if they were in my shoes.
I was suppose to be the emcee for the student leaders investiture 2006.
But in the end I got replaced.
The past few days, I have been really stressed about it.
Anyway, while I was worrying about it in school today and I was praying about it this morning,That I could somehow get through this.
While in school, I recieved this message.

There's work to do, deadlines to meet;
You've got no time to spare, but as you hurry and scurry... say a prayer!
It may seem like your worries are more than you can bear. Slow down and take a beather... Say a prayer!
God knows how stressful life is;
He wants to ease out cares, and He'll respond to all our needs.
Always say a prayer!

The thing is, the girl who sent me this message is all the way in Indonesia.
And I've never ever met her.But she always seems to cheer me up and encourage me on my walk.
Such people in life is a God-sent.
Angels without wings.
We call them friends. (:

Well, anyway, after i recieved the message, I stopped doing what I was doing and I said a silent prayer.
Somehow I felt much better, and when the rehersal came, after awhile, I realised that I got replaced.
Wow!
Thank God.

Storm after storm, the calm never came.

The last few days has been hell.
So, much responsibility, so much commitment.
I wish I could just run away.
There's so much going on in my life right now, and I don't know what to do about it.

Crap, I can't wait to get out of this mess.
Someone throw me an escape rope, I can't take it.

Perhaps I'll just wait out this storm.

I've been reading andria's blog, and i just realised.... I'm a bloody bad christian.
If i'm even called one.
Gosh.So many things have been happening lately that i dunno how to make head or tail of it.
Let's just wait and see how it folds out.

Class Chalet.

12-14 June.

It was 5am on the 12th of June and I haven't slept yet.
After the daunting task of falling asleep, I woke up at only 2,looked at my phone and found 6 missed calls.
I was suppose to meet the guys at 11am.Bummer.
Ended up meeting Hui min, Jocelyn, Mahes, Dung and Yaso.
So, it was just me and the girls.
We headed down to orchard to accompany Dung to collect her pay.
After that we took the MRT to Toa Payoh to take a bus.
Ended up taking a very long bus ride.
We reached Pasir ris at 5 plus.
Our original plan to take the free shuttle bus was shattered when we found out it didn't go to YCC.
So we took 2 taxis there.
When we reached, my taxi group had to do a rescue mission to find the other group who got lost.
After rounding up the lost sheep, we headed down to the chalet.
I took over some fire-making duties alongside Andria, Winnie and Will, and I must say, it was quite a fire.
After cooking some food, this guy from another chalet came over and offered us food.
We took it, and saved our food for the next day.
Then me, Andria, Yaso, Mahes, Joce and Huimin headed down to the beach for a wade in the sea.
There we watched ships go by and just chilled.
Then, we headed back.
After eating we slacked for awhile before taking a night walk.
We walked down the beach all the way to Changi village, where we saw some umm...guys/girls ?
After failing to find food, we headed back to the Chalet.
There we slacked and slacked.
Our initial plan of watching the sun-rise was called off due to the lack of people wanting to go.
Me, Weilun and Rohan decided to go watch it alone.
Me and weilun were greeted by falls on the butt, while Rohan got away scott-free.
When we reached the Chalet, we went to get some sleep.
I slept on the floor. It wasn't that bad, Andria was also sleeping on the floor.
While we were sleeping, some of them went out to buy back breakfast.
They bought subway.
I walked downstairs to have my breakfast.
They bought tuna.
Well, I gave my sandwich to Andria because she was hungry and without breakfast.
And also because I dont like tuna.
Well, I settled for the big cookie that came along with the meal.
It was oddly satisfying.
We headed to downtown east later for some pool.
After pool, we headed to whitesands to stock-up for our bbq.
We also had to buy back some food for Da-Jie.
Took some photos there.
Had alot of fun.
We headed back and started the bbq.
After the bbq and a cold night.(:
We headed down to tampines for a sort of farewell meal of long john silver.
Then, we parted ways.
Was supposed to crash Gabriel's(my cousin) house and have him drive me home, but as fate would have it, he wasn't home.
Managed to catch WeiLun, Janson and HuiMin in time to take the bus home together.
Overall, the chalet was indeed one of the best things that happened to me this year! (:
